A Strength-Based Employment Maintenance Program for Individuals on the Autism Spectrum

This study evaluates how effective a strength-based training program may be in improving job maintenance skills in young adults on the autism spectrum. This intervention is open to young adults who want help keeping their jobs and improving their satisfaction at work.

 

This study is fully remote and does not require any in-person visits.

Duration

Participation lasts 8 months. During the first week, participants complete tests and questionnaires via Zoom (1-1.5 hours). If assigned to the training group, participants engage in an online strength-based intervention for 8 sessions, once or twice a week (each 1 hour) through Zoom. Between weeks 7 and 8, participants complete additional tests and questionnaires via Zoom. There is 1 follow-up call 6 months after study completion to discuss employment status.

Inclusion Criteria

There will be 36 adolescents in this study between the ages of 14 and 26. 

In order for you to participate in this study, you must meet the following requirements: 

  • 14-26 years old 
  • Speak English fluently 
  • Able to read at a 4th-grade level
