The goal of this research study is to better understand the brain mechanisms involved in reading. The findings from this study may help develop new methods for diagnosis and treatment of reading problems after stroke.

Duration
2 sessions (4-6 hours each).
Inclusion Criteria
- Individuals 18-100 years of age who sustained a left-sided stroke within the last 5 weeks.
- Right-handed.
- Fluent and literate in English before stroke.
Compensation
All participants who completed both sessions receive $30 for travel costs. Individuals who are found to have a reading deficit and undergo additional tests/fMRI receive up to $50.
