Impact of Virtual Reality and Aerobic Exercise on Cognition

The purpose of this research is to test the effects of aerobic exercise paired with different virtual environments on several aspects of cognition in people with TBI. This critical investigation will be a first step toward systematically identifying an optimal exercise training intervention for managing common cognitive consequences of TBI.

Duration

Participants complete 1 session a week for 5 weeks (5 visits total). The first visit is 3 hours while the remaining visits last 2 hours each. 

Inclusion Criteria
  • Individuals diagnosed with a TBI that occurred at least one year prior to enrollment
  • 18-59 years of age
  • English is their primary language
  • no co-occurring neurological conditions such as stroke or seizure disorder.
Compensation

Participants who complete the study receive up to $125.
