This study tests the effectiveness of reading therapy combined with exercise (stationary bike cycling or stretching) for people who have difficulty reading after a left-brain stroke.

Duration
Participation lasts approximately 6-8 weeks and includes:
- Baseline assessments and 2 baseline MRI scans (2-3 hours)
- 40 Therapy sessions meeting 5 days a week for 8 weeks (2 hours each)
- Outcome assessments and 1 follow-up MRI scan (2-3 hours).
All sessions takes place at Kessler Foundation in West Orange, NJ.
Inclusion Criteria
- Diagnosed with a stroke that occurred at least 3 months prior to enrollment
- Fluent and literate in English before stroke
- 18-85 years old
Compensation
Participants are compensated $100:
- $50 for completing baseline assessments and 2 MRI scans
- $50 for completing treatment, outcome assessments and 1 follow-up MRI scan
