This study tests whether a cognitive training program can improve the speed at which people with acute traumatic spinal cord injury process information.
This study is fully remote and does not require any in-person visits.
Participation lasts up to 9 months.
Participants complete a screening session (30 minutes). If eligible, participants then complete a baseline testing session involving thinking tests and questionnaires (3 hours). Following the baseline session, participants independently complete computer tasks 3 times a week for 12 weeks (1 hour each). Once a week during this time, a member of the study team will reach out to check in (10 min call). After the computer sessions, participants complete immediate follow-up testing (3 hours) that includes the same tests and questionnaires as the baseline session. Depending on when they started the study, participants then complete 1-2 additional follow-up sessions (3 hours each).
