Kessler Foundation is seeking a Physical Therapist to work in the Rehabilitation Robotics and Research Laboratory (RRRL) in the Center for Mobility and Rehabilitation Engineering Research as part of a team including research scientists, physicians, physical therapists, research coordinators, engineers, and research assistants.

Complete testing and training protocols and research activities.

Evaluate research participants for interventions.

Ensure standardization of clinical testing with other research study clinicians.

Work with upper- and lower-extremity orthotics, robotics exoskeleton devices, and rehabilitation equipment used for assistance and rehabilitation.

Work with novel and experimental modalities (electromagnetic stimulation and electric stimulation) for testing and training with persons with disabilities (with SCI, MS, CP, and stroke).

Provide in-person and remote sessions to participants enrolled in research projects. Some travel to participants’ homes may be required if necessary (travel cost will be reimbursed at the IRS mileage rates.)

Prepare reports and complete monitoring paperwork related to research protocols.

Recruit participants for research projects: discuss research protocols, consent, and screen (medical record and in person).

Oversee data entry and study documentation (participant binders and databases).

Contribute to scholarly publications related to spinal stimulation research and physical therapy.

Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Physical Therapist required.

Current New Jersey state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Physical Therapist.

At least one year of experience with individuals with SCI or brain injury.
