Dr. Chiaravalloti comments on concussion study in cheerleaders

Nancy Chiaravalloti, PhD, quoted in

Nancy Chiaravalloti, PhD, is quoted in "Watching Children for Concussions” published on http://www.dailyrx.com/possible-concussions-young-athletes-may-need-professional-evaluation. Her comments focus on a study of the cognitive effects of concussions in cheerleaders published in the August issue of the Journal of Pediatrics. The researchers used the Immediate Postconcussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing (ImPACT) to evaluate girls pre- and post-injury.

Nancy Chiaravalloti, PhD, an expert in cognitive rehabilitation research, is director of Neuropsychology & Neuroscience, and Traumatic Brain Injury Research at Kessler Foundation. She is principal investigator of the Northern New Jersey TBI System, a NIDRR-funded model system. Dr. Chiaravalloti is also an associate professor at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.
