Fan Zhang received his B.S. degree in biomedical engineering from Tianjin Medical University, Tianjin, China, in 2006, and his M.S. degree in biomedical engineering from Tianjin University, Tianjin, China, in 2008. He received the Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and North Carolina State University in 2015. He was a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Neuromuscular Rehabilitation Engineering Laboratory at North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC. Currently, he is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Center for Spinal Stimulation at Kessler Foundation and Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, New Jersey. His primary research interests include human physiological signal processing, human-machine interface design, wearable rehabilitative robotic control, machine learning, and biomedical instrumentation.
