Our results support the need to explore the relationships among exercise training, cognition, and functional and structural changes in the brain.
Brian Sandroff, PhD, directs the Exercise Neurorehabilitation Research Laboratory within Kessler Foundation's Center for Neuropsychology and Neuroscience Research, where he is assistant director. The Lab scientists focus on creating and evaluating exercise training programs to enhance the physical, cognitive, and brain health of people with multiple sclerosis. Their research includes clinical trials to examine how physical activity and exercise training affect cognitive performance, neuroimaging results, and functional abilities in individuals with MS. The team systematically designs and refines exercise programs to help people with MS better manage their cognitive and mobility challenges. The ultimate goal is to implement these programs in community settings.
