Brain Stimulation and Robotic Balance Training after Traumatic Brain Injury

This study aims to improve balance control in individuals with traumatic brain injury, a common challenge affecting mobility and stability. The study will evaluate the effects of 15 sessions over five weeks, combining a robotic balance platform with real or sham brain stimulation. This clinical trial will assess its impact on balance function and postural control.

This study will take approximately 16 weeks (4 months), and each session will last 1 hour.

Inclusion Criteria
  • 18-75 years of age
  • Been diagnosed with a TBI at least 6 months before the screening
  • Have impaired balance or a fear of falling
  • Can remain standing for 30 seconds with or without minimal support
  • Ability to walk with/without a walking aid for at least 30 feet
  • Not planning to change medication within the next 4 months
  • Ability to understand instructions in English and comply with the study procedures
