Jalen Winfield is a research engineer in the Center for Mobility and Rehabilitation Engineering Research at Kessler Foundation. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. 

Prior to joining the Foundation, Jalen worked with epileptic patients to explore brain functions tied to memory, attention, and cognition. He has also collaborated with neurosurgeons to design and evaluate procedures focused on the biomechanics of the musculoskeletal system, contributing to advancements in surgical techniques, and patient care.

Research Interests

Jalen’s research interests include improving balance function in populations affected by stroke and traumatic brain injury. He aims to better understand the neurophysiological mechanisms that contribute to recovery to help further improve the understanding of clinical outcomes for rehabilitation.
