Bing (Brian) Yao, PhD, is the assistant director of the Rocco Ortenzio Neuroimaging Center and Director of the Center's Integrated Neurotechnology Laboratory at Kessler Foundation. He received his Doctorate degree in Medical Physics from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH. His main research interests involve the development of novel techniques in biomedical engineering and signal processing, especially in the study of human brain anatomy and functions, as well as their clinical application in diseased brains.

Dr. Yao has been conducting research using multi-modality biomedical techniques including MRI, functional MRI, electroencephalography (EEG), and electromyography (EMG). He has applied these techniques to both healthy human volunteers and patients, leading to clinical applications in exploring the pathological mechanisms of a number of neurological diseases. He serves as a reviewer for several publications including Brain, Journal of the Neurological Sciences, Neuroscience Letters, Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (a Distinguished Reviewer), Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, and Multiple Sclerosis
