The purpose of this research study is to determine if a new robotic balance training program can improve balance function and postural control when combined with brain stimulation, in people with stroke.

21 visits over a period of 4 months including: 

  • 6 evaluation visits (3 hours/visit)
  • 15 training visits (1.5 hours/visit)
Inclusion Criteria

You may qualify if you:

  • Are 18-75 years old
  • Have had a stroke at least 6 months ago
  • Have impaired balance or a fear of falling
  • Can stand for at least 2 minutes
  • Have the ability to walk with or without a walking aid for at least 30 feet
  • Have not enrolled in other balance function-related research/exercise program
  • Have not had a brainstem stroke or other neurological condition
  • Do not have any orthopedic conditions affecting the ability to maintain balance
  • Do not have any metal implants in the body
  • Do not have a history of recurrent seizures/epilepsy
