With the goal of helping healthy aging individuals maintain memory, confidence, and independence for as long as possible, this video highlights the work of Nancy Chiaravalloti, PhD, and her team at Kessler Foundation. Through cognition trials, Dr. Chiaravalloti and her team are studying practical strategies that can help people strengthen memory, thinking skills, and everyday problem-solving in meaningful, real-world ways.

The story follows Ruth who had her very first auto accident at the age of 77 (and it wasn't even her fault!). Ruth noticed she was having trouble remembering familiar details, including the street where the accident occurred. That experience led her to join a Foundation clinical trial focused on cognition. Before the trial, she completed assessments of memory, processing speed, reasoning, and problem-solving. After completing the training, Ruth reported improvements and found she was better able to use the strategies she learned to remember information and support her daily routines.
