Samantha Dasilva is a research assistant in the Center for Stroke Rehabilitation Research at Kessler Foundation. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Holy Cross College in Notre Dame, IN.
In her undergraduate studies, Samantha conducted research under Dr. Cosette Fox on the effects of Animal-Assisted Intervention on college student stress, depression, and anxiety, as well as related research on growth mindset, art therapy, and mindfulness meditation. She also studied the melatonin attenuation of cortisol with growth mindset under Dr. Aris Alexandrou.

Samantha’s research at Kessler Foundation focuses on reading recovery in aphasia with Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) and Phono-Motor Treatment (PMT), a combined therapy that uses non-invasive brain stimulation with a language therapy technique to improve communication for individuals with aphasia, particularly after a stroke.
