Rodger L. DeRose is president and CEO of Kessler Foundation, where he leads strategy, operations, and growth. He has strengthened the Foundation’s financial position, expanded research capacity, increased philanthropic support, and advanced partnerships with leading academic and clinical institutions. His leadership emphasizes clear goals, measurable performance, and disciplined execution.
At Kessler Foundation, DeRose has built senior leadership teams, aligned board governance with strategic priorities, and implemented systems that reinforce accountability and results. Under his direction, the organization has expanded its national profile in spinal cord injury research, regenerative rehabilitation, mobility and rehabilitation engineering, and autism research.

He previously served as President and CEO of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America, where he led national fundraising, program expansion, and operational modernization. Before entering the nonprofit sector, DeRose spent two decades in senior marketing and general management roles at SC Johnson and later served as partner and chief operating officer of the Technology Software Division at Arthur Andersen. His private-sector experience informs his approach to strategy, brand development, financial management, and organizational performance.
He currently serves on the board of the Perlman Music Program, supporting the development of young musicians.
