This study explores social, cultural, emotional, and environmental factors that impact wheelchair breakdowns and repairs.

Interview Phase: 2 sessions to complete questionnaires and converse over the phone or Zoom (1.5-2 hours).
Wheelchair Repair Journey: This phase will last up to 1 year. It will consist of an initial interview (1 to 1.5 hours), weekly or monthly check-ins (up to 1/2 hour) for updates about your wheelchair repairs, and final interview (1 to 1.5 hours). The appointments will take place over the phone or Zoom.
Inclusion Criteria
- Self-identify as Hispanic, Non-Hispanic Black, or Non-Hispanic White
- Full-time wheelchair users (>= 40 hours/week)
- Report experiencing a wheelchair breakdown in the last 6 months
- 18 years of age or older
- Have a neurologic impairment caused by a non-progressive SCI that occurred at least 1 year before the study
Compensation
Up to $425 for completing the study.
