The purpose of this research study is to determine if a low-intensity electromagnetic field from a wearable device can help improve hand and arm movement after stroke. Participants will wear the device while doing seated hand and arm exercises. Researchers will study how well the device works in both hospital and home settings.

Duration

minimum 3.5 months, which entail:

  • One in-person consent and screening visit (1.5 hours)
  • One in-person rescreening and baseline visit (2 hours)
  • One in-person post-training follow-up visit (2 hours)
Inclusion Criteria
  • Are 18 to 80 years old
  • Are between 6 months and 5 years post-stroke
  • Have moderate impairment in hand and arm function
  • Are not currently involved in another arm rehabilitation research and do not plan to for the duration of the study
  • Can travel to Kessler Foundation for the first 3 to 5 weeks of the study as well as a follow-up visit after the 12 weeks of training
