Volunteers Are the Heart
of Our Research

We are dedicated to changing the lives of people with disabilities and debilitating health conditions through innovative rehabilitation research. By participating in our studies, you help our researchers understand the impact of neurological and physical disabilities on cognition, mobility, quality of life, and employment. Through your time and commitment to our studies, we expand our research and develop effective interventions and potential treatments.

Why We Look for Healthy Volunteers

While our research focuses on neurological and physical disabilities, it is still important that adults and children without disabilities participate. Healthy volunteers serve as controls in our research, completing the same tasks that volunteers with a disability will complete.

By including volunteers with and without disabilities, scientists are able to compare groups and learn how a disability or disease affects cognition, mobility, quality of life, and employment. As a healthy volunteer, you will complete studies designed to further investigate conditions such as multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury, stroke, and many others.

Ultimately, you will help change lives for people with disabilities.
