Research Interests
Growing up with a twin brother who has disabilities gave Jimmy a personal understanding of the challenges people can face every day. This experience inspired him to find practical ways to remove barriers and help people live more independently. Building on the Laboratory's work in wearable robotics, he is interested in using rapid fabrication to create devices that better meet each person's needs. He also studies new ways to help rehabilitation robots understand a person's intention to move, with the goal of making therapy more effective and improving outcomes.
