Denise Krch, PhD, is a senior research scientist in the Center for Traumatic Brain Injury Research and director of the Advancing Diverse Rehabilitation Treatments Laboratory at Kessler Foundation. Her research focuses on cognitive rehabilitation across neurologic populations, with particular expertise in executive function.

Dr. Krch leads an established program of research developing and evaluating rehabilitation interventions that leverage virtual reality technologies. With support from the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research, she developed an innovative VR-based treatment to remediate impairments in multitasking and task switching. She has extended this work through multidisciplinary collaborations aimed at improving spatial neglect after stroke, balance deficits following traumatic brain injury, and social cognitive impairments in multiple sclerosis.

In addition to intervention development, Dr. Krch investigates cognitive reserve and caregiver burden. Fluent in Spanish, she conducts research examining outcomes among Hispanic individuals after traumatic brain injury and evaluates the effectiveness of cognitive rehabilitation interventions across Hispanic cultures. Her work has also received funding from the Department of Defense and the New Jersey Commission on Brain Injury Research.
