Responsibilities include
- Prepare bank reconciliations.
- Record a variety of journal entries pertaining to cash, payroll, contributions, and grants expenses (federal, state, and private).
- Provide support to Finance team for annual audit of research projects.
- Support the Sponsored Research Administration activities in the various areas of pre- and post-award research funding and administration.
- Assist with ad-hoc reporting and projects.
- Collaborate with the Communications team and the office of the President & CEO to promote and announce the Foundation's research awards.
- Work with Principal Investigators (PIs) and funding sponsors to close out project awards by ensuring that deliverables/reports are submitted, funds are expended or returned, and audit issues are rectified.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, including pivot tables, v-look up, data management, etc.
- Attention to detail; analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
Preferred qualifications
• Experience in non-project and/or federal grants accounting, especially in Oracle NetSuite.
• Experience with administration for research activities in an independent research organization or a university setting.
