Posture and Balance in Spatial Neglect After Stroke

The purpose of this research study is to investigate how stroke affects the ability to keep a balanced posture at a seated position, especially in individuals who have spatial neglect.  This research will also investigate whether prism adaptation therapy can improve posture impairment in individuals with spatial neglect.
Duration

30 minutes to 3 hours.

Inclusion Criteria
  • 18 to 99 years old.
  • Had a stroke on the right or left side of the brain.
  • Able to sit on a chair with no back support.
  • Must be able to stand alone with no assistance for at least 2 minutes.
Compensation

Reimbursement of travel expenses of $0.54 per mile, plus any tolls participant had to pay.
