Fatigue and Brain Iron in Multiple Sclerosis

The purpose of this research study is to detect any accumulation of iron in certain regions of the brain using MRI and use this imaging data to examine the relationship between iron deposition and the severity of cognitive fatigue in MS. Cognitive fatigue is described as mental exhaustion that interferes with thinking, memory, and problem-solving.

Duration

3 hours (including 1.5 hour MRI scan).

Inclusion Criteria
  • 30-65 years of age.
  • Able to walk without an assistive device.
  • Diagnosed with Relapsing-Remitting MS (RRMS).
  • Must have been free from a flare up for at least one month.
Compensation
