AXSChat Hosts Elaine Katz, Senior Vice President for Grants and Communications at Kessler Foundation

Elaine Katz, MS, CCC-SP, Senior Vice President for Grants and Communications at Kessler Foundation, talks on AXSChat about the rise and influence of collaborative funding to enhance inclusion of people with disabilities (PwD) in the workplace in the United States and internationally. Katz goes on to discuss her views on the future of disability employment, highlighting the Foundation’s monthly, custom report detailing the participation of PwD in the workplace: National Trends in Disability Employment (nTIDE). nTIDE is currently tracking an upward 17-consecutive-month trend of labor-force participation among PwD. In addition, Katz discusses the key findings of the 2015 Kessler Foundation Employment and Disability Survey – the majority of PwD are striving to work – and provides a brief overview of the 2017 Kessler Foundation Employment and Disability Survey: Supervisor Perspectives  scheduled for release on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, on Capitol Hill.

The 2017 Survey was administered to more than 3,000 supervisors who responded on their experiences in the workplace relating to hiring, professional development, advancement and provision of accommodations for applicants and employees with and without disabilities. The Kessler Foundation Survey is expected to yield new, actionable information that will inform researchers, grant makers and policymakers, influencing the development of effective strategies that promote long-term, meaningful employment opportunities.
