Dr. Das named Director of Neurorehabilitation at Institute of Neurosciences, Kolkata, West Bengal, India

Abhijit Das, MD, DM, formerly of Kessler Foundation, was named Director of Neurorehabilitation at Institute of Neurosciences, Kolkata, West Bengal, India.  Dr. Das was a postdoctoral fellow in Neuropsychology & Neuroscience Research at Kessler Foundation for two years. During his fellowship, funded through the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR)Advanced Rehabilitation Research Training (ARRT) Program (H113P090009) . Dr. Das received recognition for his research in cognitive fatigue in multiple sclerosis.  In 2012, Dr. Das was one of five ‘young investigators’ recognized for contributions to rehabilitation research by NIDRR at the ACRM-ASNR conference in Vancouver.

Kessler Foundation trains scientists in rehabilitation research under the leadership of John DeLuca, PhD, vice president of Research & Training. Postdoctoral training is funded by NIDRR, National MS Society and the National Institutes of Health.

Institute of Neurosciences in Kolkata is a 150-bed Neuroscience Institute in the centre of Kolkata that has neurology, neurosurgery, neuro-rehabilitation & neuropsychiatry treatment programmes for adults & children. It is a comprehensive advanced facility for neurosurgery and related treatments in eastern India.
