Belinda Washington

Belinda Washington is the Senior Research Coordinator in the Center for Traumatic Brain Injury Research who has been with Kessler Foundation for 19 years. She oversees the daily activities of research studies for six (6) scientists with different types of research in the realm of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Multiple Sclerosis (MS), and Spinal Cord Injury (SCI). She’s also responsible for overseeing the day to day activities of the Northern New Jersey Traumatic Brain Injury System (NNJTBIS) – a NIDILRR Funded study that includes Five (5) local trauma hospitals and five (5) Modular projects associated with the TBI Model Systems. She is involved with the hiring/ training of the research assistants; responsible for all IRB submissions and internal audits. Ms. Washington began her medical career as a Mental Health Specialist for the State of South Carolina and later moved to New York where she worked for Mount Sinai Medical Center Radiology Associates as the Supervisor for the Medical Office Staff. After moving to New Jersey, she joined Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation’s Admission Department, later transferring to Kessler Foundation.
